Outeiro Agueda hand painted lidded vase – so typical of the painted pottery that comes from this City in Portugal and to some extent reminiscent of Chinese vases in shape. The iconic bird which looks something between a pheasant and a cuckoo is on this piece painted by a person called Ribiero and has a number 151. Portuguese ceramics are quite dense and the coloring is pastel shades – teal, yellow, green, light purple. Branches with leaves and flowers abound on this vase so very pleasant and easy on the eye. No idea of date but it is not particularly old.
Stands at 40cm and about 23cm wide at the widest band. In excellent condition.
