French spelter Statue circa 19c and a very nice model with no issues. The Plaque on the copper plate base says “La Victoire” and then adds “courannant le travail” – which all translates to “The Victory – crowning the work”. This would be a celebration of the working man as further evidenced by the anvil, hammer, wheel and axe all moulded into the statue. Winged Angel or cherub on the toga dressed man. There is a small round centime which states “fabrication Paris France” = made in Paris France.
Lovely patina and circa 19th Century from my research.
This is a sizeable sculpture standing at 88cm tall and the base is 30cm in diameter.
